Refuge
by KATIA ZALKIND
There is a corner of me that belongs to you,
small and easily overlooked.
Come and visit between syllables.
I have built you a house on a battered shore.
The pines are whistling in perpetual evening.
The ice in the creek is beginning to crack.
I am the person by the window,
of the iron bed and the well-swept floor.
