by ASHLEY D. ESCOBAR

everyone stares at us
as we enter café mustache
living our lives on north
milwaukee ave & logan blvd
matt asks if it’s like the show
   easy
I love our little loopity loop
enjoying a landlocked green
tea surfside next to a stuffed
bunny rabbit named oswaldo
I watch the leaves flutter &
wonder where the breeze
comes from never having
heard a cicada until this very
moment having trouble deciding
between the rigatoni or the sweet
corn ravioli at daisies I don’t know
what back home means anymore
except when I cross north talman
to get to your front yard after band
practice
