The Graffiti War at the Concrete Beach
by BINX RIVER PERINO
Spray-painted platitudes,
liberation in black and red and white.
After some days, rebuttal.
What about the hostages?
Some of it has been painted over,
stickers etched off the poles.
And the clear air still smells like water,
and the clear air still sounds like seagulls,
and the clear air is still.
