Remembering Daniel Naroditsky

The chess community suffered a tragic loss with the passing of GM Daniel Naroditsky. Daniel was an amazing player, but he was famous for his chess commentary and his ability to explain the game in a way that players of any skill level could easily digest. He always tried to make chess accessible to everyone, and was well known to play out forced checkmates so that lower level players could see them played out. Our puzzle is a great example of this, it comes from a rapid chess game between Daniel Naroditsky and Magnus Carlsen, in which Magnus won in just 26 moves. Naroditsky played out this forced checkmate so that we could all learn from it. May he rest in peace.
